Copyright Registration
Copyright is the author's right to literary, artistic and scientific works. Related rights are the performer's right to the performance; the rights of the producer of sound recordings and video recordings to sound recordings and video recordings; the rights of broadcasting organizations to broadcast programs and encrypted satellite signals.

Authors and copyright owners whose works are protected by copyright
- Organizations and individuals whose works are protected by copyright include the person who directly created the work and the copyright owner.
- Authors and copyright owners specified in Clause 1 include Vietnamese organizations and individuals; foreign organizations and individuals whose works are first published in Vietnam but have not been published in any other country or are simultaneously published in Vietnam within thirty days from the date the work is first published in another country; foreign organizations and individuals whose works are protected in Vietnam under international treaties on copyright to which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a member.
Types of works protected by copyright
Literary, artistic and scientific works protected include:
a) Literary, scientific works, textbooks, teaching materials and other works expressed in the form of writing or other characters;
b) Lectures, speeches and other speeches;
c) Journalistic works;
d) Musical works;
dd) Dramatic works;
e) Cinematographic works and works created by similar methods (hereinafter referred to as cinematographic works);
g) Works of visual arts and applied arts;
h) Photographic works;
i) Architectural works;
k) Sketches, diagrams, maps, drawings related to topography, architecture, scientific works;
l) Works of folk literature and art;
m) Computer programs, data collections.
The application for copyright registration includes:
If the applicant is the owner and the author/co-authors:
- A sample of the work to be registered; whether the work has been published or not; time of publication;
- Authorization letter of the author/co-authors (with signature confirmation from the local authority or the personnel management agency - 1 copy);
- A copy of the ID card of the author/co-authors (with the original ID card for comparison if the copy is not notarized - 1 copy);
If the applicant is the owner and not the author (organization, company):
- A sample of the work to be registered; whether the work has been published or not; time of publication;
- A transfer paper of the work from the author/co-authors to the organization or company (with signature confirmation); or a certificate that the work to be registered is a work performed under a work assignment (1 copy);
- A notarized copy of the Business Registration Certificate; Author's guarantee;
- Copy of the author/authors' ID card;
- Full name, pen name (if any) of the author/authors; address, phone number, fax of the author/authors, company.
